Welcome to the Kalliot A-Frame

Kalliot: Finnish for 'on a rocky cliff', which precisely describes its location, also providing an incredible view.

The Kalliot A-Frame is one of two brand new cabins on the Lake at Stay Boreal located between Tofte and Lutsen, MN. We pulled out all of the stops in order to provide you with the best stay, such as a private panoramic barrel sauna, heated floors, a high-output outdoor gas firebowl amidst a beautiful patio space, free level 2 EV charging and so much more. Kalliot comfortably suits two with a capacity of up to four (1 king and 1 queen bed). It has a smaller, cozy layout.

The main floor hosts a king sized bed up front and a queen sized bed in the stargazing loft with two 4x4 skylights to view the starry night (or the Northern Lights if you're lucky!) The North Shore is one of the few designated "dark sky areas" in the United States for excellent stargazing opportunities. A fully stocked kitchen with a dishwasher is located on the main floor along with a dining table and living space. The 3-sided glass fireplace can be turned on while watching a movie for a cozy night in.

Only 8 Mins to the Lutsen Ski Resort and Superior National Golf Course! Popular hiking trails nearby on Leveaux and Oberg mountains. Located right on the bike trail and just a few minutes form Temperance River, Cascade River, Tettegouche State Park and many others.
Take a ride on the gondola at Lutsen Mountains, check out the nearby winery, or dine in at several of the fantastic local restaurants just minutes away - Coho Cafe, Bluefin Grille, Cascade Restaurant, Moguls Grille, Lockport Deli and more.

We do have a Level 2 EV charger available during off-peak hours of 11PM to 7AM, and it has a standard US "J" style plug.

The property has two cabins so there will be neighbors nearby. However, a privacy fence has been put in place near the patio, and windows strategically placed so privacy can be maintained.

The MN Dept. of Health has not qualified the upper queen sized loft as a sleeping area due to sleeping room square footage requirements, so its only “permitted” use is a day-bed, while sleeping is not permitted. An air mattress is provided under the couch for an additional sleeping bed if so desired..

**WINTER TRAVEL DISCLAIMER**
4WD is a requirement on the North Shore during the snowy months. There miles of roads to plow and not many plow trucks, so please come prepared and be patient. We are located right off Hwy 61, but there is a steeper section of driveway which may become slippery at times during the winter for smaller vehicles. Cold or inclement weather will not warrant cancellations/refunds. Stay Boreal is not liable for any towing costs. Please consider purchasing trip insurance if you have any concerns. Thank you!!
